2/26/09 Cavs @ Rockets Post Game
The most complete game out of the Rockets this season. Kept the Cavs out of the lane and forced them to take jump shots.
The Rockets kept the turnovers down in the second half and started to hit their threes.
Great, complete win for the Rockets

2/26/09 Cavs @ Rockets End of 3rd
Rockets 68-50.
Rockets playing their best defensive quarter I've seen in quite a while. Cleveland shooting a poor 31 percent from the field and the Rockets shooting 50 percent.
The most shocking stat is the seven assist the Cavs have. The Rockets making LeBron and Co. only jump shots.
The Rockets have blown fourth quarter leads in the past. They have to keep up the intensity on defense and take care of the ball.

Rockets 45-40.
Rockets picking up the shooting percentage, up to 46 percent. Cleveland staying in the game with offensive rebounding. Cavs have nine offensive rebounds to the Rockets three.
Rockets also have nine turnovers to Clevelands five.
Rockets need to take care of the ball and knock down open threes. Rockets 2-of-10 behind the arc. That needs to improve.

2/26/09 Cavs @ Rockets End of 1st
Pretty isn't really the word to describe the first quarter.
Cleveland shooting 18 percent while the Rockets best them shooting 28 percent.
Both teams missing wide open shots. The team that starts to connect will run away.
Should be interesting to see which bench plays better.

2/26/09 Cavs @ Rockets Pre-Game
LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers stomp into Toyota Center looking to give the Houston Rockets its first home loss since the 95-93 loss coming to Philadelphia Jan. 28.
A loss that fueled the Rockets (36-21) to become outraged on how they've played up to that point and an eight-game winning streak.
The Rockets have put everything they were going through in January behind them. Tracy McGrady has been sheveled for the rest of this season, and maybe next too, Ron Artest is healthy and Aaron Brooks is thriving in his new role as a starter.
This Rockets team is not the one that Cleveland (44-11) saw back on Dec. 23. The Cavs saw Rafer Alston start, now in Orlando. The Cavs saw McGrady, injured. And the Cavs did not see Shane Battier in the 99-90 victory.
Cleveland guard LeBron James is coming off one of his worst statistically performances in the 94-79 win against Memphis, 15 points, but the Cavs still managed to play well.
It should be quite a test for the Rockets, as the tough part of the schedule started back with the 98-94 win against Portland. The Rockets are looking at eight road games, four back-to-back games and eight western conference playoff contenders after tonights game against Cleveland through March.
Look for the Rockets to come out strong and James will have both Artest and Battier in his face all night. If the Rockets can limit the amount of three-pointers, they can come out with a win

2/24/09 Blazers @ Rockets End of Game
Good defensive game from the Rockets, for the most part. The Blazers made runs in the third and huge fourth quarter, but the Rockets maintained poise and stuck it out to get out with a 98-94 win.
Luis Scola played great down the stretch, getting himself into get position on offense to get rebounds.
Yao was struggling in the first half, but really picked it up in the fourth quarter. Artest played a solid game on both ends of the floor. Both Yao and Artest had to leave the game with open cuts. Yao went to the locker room to stop the bleeding.
Next will be Cleveland. What test that'll be for the Rockets. If they continue to play like they've been doing, it should be a great game.
With the win, Houston moves ahead of Portland for 4th seed in the West.

2/24/09 Blazers @ Rockets End of 3rd
The Blazers made a run in the third quarter like expected. Rockets 17-point lead is now a nine-point lead, 78-69.
Expect one more run from the Blazers. Rockets need to establish Yao. Joel Pryzbilla is playing good defense on Yao, playing defense with his body.
It's going to be a good fourth quarter.

2/24/09 Blazers @ Rockets Halftime
Rockets bench getting it done. Von Wafer, Kyle Lowry and Chuck Hayes providing offense in the second quarter. Yes, I said Chuck Hayes.
The Rockets playing tremendous defense in the second quarter, limiting the Blazers to tough jump shots, while the Rockets are getting to the rim.
Halftime, Rockets 60-43 lead. Let's hope they can keep it up. They can't come out flat. I expect the Blazers to come out trying to get to the basket. Expect more pick and rolls with Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge.

2/24/09 Blazers @ Rockets End of 1st
Rockets 31-21 after 1st quarter. Blazers came out strong, taking an early 6-2 lead, but the Rockets finally got its offense and defense together to smother the Blazers the for majority of the 1st quarter.
Yao's in foul trouble.
Scola and Artest playing well.
Yao's in foul trouble.
Scola and Artest playing well.
2/24/09 Blazers @ Rockets Pre-Game
The Portland Trail Blazers come into Toyota Center to take on the red-hot Houston Rockets.
This will the first time the Blazers and Rockets meet after Portland guard Brandon Roy's buzzer beater that gave the Blazers the 101-99 win in Portland Nov. 6, 2008.
The Rockets (35-21) are right on the heels of the Blazers (35-20), who hold the fourth seed in the West.
Houston's riding a seven-game home winning streak into Toyota Center, while the Blazers have lost its last three road games.
The key match-up should come to no surprise. Rockets guard/forward Ron Artest and forward Shane Battier will have the opportunity to give Roy fits.
Watch out for Rockets guard Brent Barry. Barry should see some more playing time because the Blazers point guards aren't the quickest in the NBA. He was out here shooting around and the man was connecting on almost every shot. Barry hit 19 shots in a row before rimming out the twentieth shot.
Injury plagued Blazers center Greg Oden is not expected to play, so the first Yao/Oden match-up will have to wait some more.
Should be an exciting game. The Rockets should come out strong.
One weird and strange note. The Blazers hired a sleep psychologist this season. They do everything on Pacific time. They wake up, eat, practice Pacific time. Maybe that's why Portland's record is 12-15 on the road.
But then again Houston's road record is 13-15.
Will update after each quarter and stay tuned for post-game audio.

Yao talks about the win against the Bobcats and what it took to shut down the Bobcats in the second half
2/22/09 Battier vs. Bobcats
Shane Battier talks about the change in defense, his shooting and what the Rockets need to do to stay hot
2/22/09 Ron Artest vs. Bobcats
Ron Artest talks defense, Portland and Cleveland and his change in play over the last few games
2/22/09 Bobcats @ Rockets 3 Minutes Left
Gerald Wallace just got ejected. Rockets look to cruise, they have an 89-69 lead with 3:55 left.
We got a Deke sighting and still no Brian Cook. Rockets locked down in the second half and went to Yao constantly. Good strategy, good win. Next two games will be a test for the team. Portland and the Cleveland.

2/22/09 Bobcats @ Rockets End of 3rd
Rockets came out much better than they finished. They went back to Yao heavily in the third quarter. Rockets up 73-56.
Let's see if the bench can keep it up. The Rockets seemed to have no sense of direction when the second unit is in.

2/22/09 Bobcats @ Rockets Halftime
Terrible second quarter by the Rockets. Rockets still lead 42-40, but the Bobcats outscored the Rockets 22 to 17.
The Rockets looked out of sync on offense and defensively they were mediocre.

2/22/09 Bobcats @ Rockets End of 1st
End of the first quarter, Rockets up 27-20. Defense was pretty good, holding the Bobcats to 35 percent. Turnovers were a problem to start the game, but the Rockets took care of the ball as the first quarter went a long.
2/22/09 Bobcats @ Rockets 20 Minutes Before Tip
Sunday game, expected to be a small crowd and what a small crowd it is with 20 minutes until tip. But of course these are Rockets fans. They like to cruise into their seats about 5 minutes after tip-off.
This game seems like it could easily be a trap game for the Rockets and Jason Friedman said it earlier on The Front Page (Sundays 8am-12pm), the Rockets usually don't get up for these early games. We'll see how they fare this afternoon.
I don't see Carl Landry as the Rockets run out onto the court. Brian Cook could see some playing time, especially if the Rockets come out flat.

Rick Adelman talks about the win against the Mavericks, Kyle Lowry and running the ball.
2/20/09 Mavericks @ Rockets 3:00 Minutes left
Wow...22 turnovers. If the Rockets lose, they beat themselves.
2/20/09 Mavericks @ Rockets End of 3rd Quarter
Ask and I shall receive. Rockets came out like they finished, outscoring the Mavericks 30-17 to take a 74-64 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Rockets bench cannot lapse in the beginning of the fourth. Keep playing great defense, limit Mavs to jump shots and take good shots.

2/20/09 Mavericks @ Rockets End of 1st Half
I arrived mid-way into the second quarter when the Mavs had a 10-point lead. It's half time right now where the Mavs lead 51-44.
Kyle Lowry has four points. He had a nice drive to the basket in the second quarter.
It's a good thing the Rockets were able to stop the bleeding and cut the, what once was a 14-point lead in half.
Hopefully they start the second half like they finished the first half.

2-17-09 Alston after win vs. Nets
Alston talks about distributing, scoring, defense and Battier's tan
2/17/09 Nets @ Rockets 3:00 left
Rockets up 102-80. Good showing for the team. Rockets killed from 3, 14-28 beyond the arc. The Rockets defense was pretty good for the most part. Hopefully this can spur them on.
Will post audio after the game

2/17/09 Nets @ Rockets End of 3rd
Rockets 84, Nets 65. Rafer Alston playing extremely well.
Rockets out rebounding the Nets 42 to 25.
Rockets lose Carl Landry for the game with a sprained ankle he suffered in the 2nd quarter.

2/17/09 Nets @ Rockets End of 2nd
Rockets up 56-40 . Rockets should be up more. They've missed too many layups, especially Luis Scola.
Both teams shooting less than 40 percent, but the Rockets have taken advantage of the three-pointers (7-14) and have been to the line more than the Nets (11-14).
Looks like Shane Battier has found his shot again, along with a dark tan.

2/17/09 Nets @ Rockets End of 1st
Rockets started off slow, but came strong as the 1st quarter went along.
Brooke Lopez looks like the real deal. Good defensive player, decent shot and played Yao well.
Both teams shot less than 40 percent but the Rockets hit on 4-of-8 beyond the arc. The Rockets played extremely well defensively, lets see if it continues.

2/17/09 Nets @ Rockets Pre-Game
Man traffic sucked. Left my house around 5:30 and got to Toyota Center around 7. No accidents, no stalls or any other freeway hazards.
Anyway, I'm going to try and posting post-game audio from this game on. Heavy trade talks swirl around the Nets and Rockets. ESPN.com reported earlier today that the Rockets and Nets were in heavy talks about working a trade. Supposedly the Rockets offered Tracy McGrady up for Vince Carter and Trenton Hassell. The Nets countered with Vince Carter and Josh Boone for Ron Artest, Shane Battier, Carl Landry and Luther Head. Doubt this trade will happen because the Nets are asking for too much.
Tracy McGrady not suiting up tonight, while Vince Carter plays. We'll see what the players/Adelman will say about trade talks after the game.

Tracy McGrady really came to play. Rockets up 79-66.
Hope McGrady's play is a trend not just a streak.

Tracy McGrady looked like he had more hop in his step. He slammed one over Tyrus Thomas.
Yao Ming and Carl Landry both have two fouls.
